What does this fault code mean?
The driver door's switch module (DDM) talks to the switch panel in the door over the LIN bus. The code is stored when the switch panel reports that one of its controls has lost its function. This usually shows up as one of the driver door functions stopping, such as the window lift or the central locking.
Possible causes
- Damaged switch panel in the driver door
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3Test the controls on the driver door panel one by one to see which functions do not work: mirrors, window lift, central locking and child lock
- 4Check that the switch panel is undamaged and dry, and that no button is stuck
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the switch status in live data and see which control is reported as faulty when you press each button
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the switch panel and its wiring
Symptoms you may notice5
- Electric adjustment of the door mirrors does not work
- The window lift is inoperative, reduced or behaves incorrectly
- Locking and unlocking with the central locking does not work
- The child lock does not work
