Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module (DDM/PDM) has found an internal fault in its own components, including its data memory. The fault lies in the module itself and not in the wiring around it. If the fault has only occurred once it may be temporary, but if it returns the module is faulty and must be replaced.
Possible causes
- Damaged driver or passenger door module
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery is well charged
- 3Test the window lift and the door mirrors in the driver door and check that they work as normal after switching the ignition off and on
- 4If the fault is still there or the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the module, as it is probably faulty and needs replacing
- 5After a module replacement the window position must be initialised, which a workshop should do
Symptoms you may notice4
- Electric window lift does not work
- The window lift is inoperative, reduced or behaves incorrectly
- Folding of the door mirrors does not work
- Automatic memory adjustment of the door mirrors does not work
