What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module (DDM/PDM) compares the vehicle configuration received from the central electronic control module (CEM) with the one stored in its own memory. The code is stored when the two do not match, which can be caused by wrong software in the module, for example after it has been fitted from another vehicle without the correct software being loaded. The code is erased automatically once the two match.
Possible causes
- Incorrect configuration parameter in the module
- Wrong software in the module, for example after it was fitted from another vehicle without new software being loaded
- The cause may lie in the central electronic control module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in all control modules and note whether any others are stored
- 2Check that the battery is well charged and that the fuses are intact
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the codes stored in the CEM and note whether any of them are related to this one
- 4If the door module has recently been replaced, or the car has been fitted with a used module from another vehicle, tell the workshop, as this decides which software is needed
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment read and update the software in the module and the CEM, then erase the code after the update
Symptoms you may notice4
- The child lock does not work
- Locking and unlocking with the central locking does not work
- Electric adjustment of the door mirrors does not work
