What does this fault code mean?

The driver or passenger door module (DDM/PDM) compares its own system voltage with the voltage in the central electronic control module (CEM). The code is stored when the comparison shows a deviation. It is only worth troubleshooting if it has been active for a longer period and a door function is actually not working. Otherwise it can be erased without further action.

    Possible causes

    • The supply wire to the module is shorted to ground
    • Supply voltage is too low
    • Moisture or oxidation in the connections

    What you can do

    1. 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns and whether any door function is still missing
    2. 2Check that the battery is fully charged and that the alternator charges it while the engine runs
    3. 3Check that the fuses are intact
    4. 4Check the wiring and connectors to the door module for chafing, loose contacts and signs of moisture or oxidation
    5. 5Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire has no contact with ground (the body) when it is disconnected
    6. 6If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment measure the voltage in the door module and compare it with the CEM

    Symptoms you may notice5

    • Electric window lift does not work
    • The window lift is reduced or behaves incorrectly
    • Locking and unlocking with the central locking does not work
    • The child lock does not work
    • Mirror defrosting does not work

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
