What does this fault code mean?
The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) has registered an internal fault in how it controls the control valve. The code is stored when the current to the valve falls outside the permitted limits while the engine is running. The fault points to a damaged control module. If the fault has only occurred temporarily it may be intermittent, but if it returns the control module must be replaced.
Possible causes
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3If the fault has been temporary and does not return after a few drives, it is probably a disturbance when the control module starts up
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and replace the four-wheel drive control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The four-wheel drive does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
