What does this fault code mean?
The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) calculates how the oil pressure in the clutch should change while driving and compares this with the signal from the oil pressure sensor. The code is stored when the deviation is too large, which can be caused by a damaged clutch, an oil leak, a damaged temperature sensor or incorrect signals from the brake control module (BCM). The four-wheel drive is disengaged while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Damaged temperature sensor
- Damaged clutch unit (AOC)
- Oil leakage from the clutch
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
- Incorrect signals from the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, erase it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Look over the clutch housing for visible damage and oil leaks, and listen for unusual noises while driving
- 3Check the oil level in the clutch (AOC unit)
- 4Check the connector and the wire between the control module and the oil pump for oxidation, loose contact and damage
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the oil pressure sensor signal with the ignition on and at idle, and check that the value changes when the engine is revved
- 6Do not work on the brakes or ABS yourself. If the fault returns, have a workshop check the brake system and the wheel speed sensors
Symptoms you may notice1
- The four-wheel drive does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
