What does this fault code mean?
The all-wheel drive control module (DEM) checks that the configuration received from the connector to the Active on Demand coupling (AOC) matches what it expects. The software in the module does not match the hardware that is fitted, so the module does not recognise the configuration. This can happen if a control module from another make with a similar all-wheel drive system has been fitted by mistake.
Possible causes
- The wrong control module is fitted, for example one from another make with a similar all-wheel drive system
- The software does not match the fitted hardware
What you can do
- 1Check that the correct all-wheel drive control module is fitted to the car
- 2Find out whether the all-wheel drive control module has recently been replaced or repaired
- 3Have a workshop check that the software matches the hardware and correct it if needed
- 4Clear the code only once the correct module is fitted, and check that the code does not return
Symptoms you may notice1
- All-wheel drive does not work
What the fault can affect1
- All-wheel drive is disengaged
