What does this fault code mean?
The all-wheel drive control module (DEM) monitors the electric oil pump that builds pressure in the all-wheel drive coupling. The pump signal has been outside the permitted range for a while, so the module concludes that the pump or its circuit is not working.
Possible causes
- Damaged connector between the oil pump and the module
- Open circuit or short to ground in the pump supply wire
- Damaged oil pump
What you can do
- 1Check the oil pump connector for damaged terminals, poor contact and corrosion – it sits exposed under the car
- 2Inspect the pump wiring for damage and chafing
- 3If no wiring fault is found, the oil pump most likely needs replacing
- 4Take extra care on slippery roads until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice2
- All-wheel drive does not work
- Message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- All-wheel drive is disengaged and only the front wheels drive the car
