What does this fault code mean?
This code concerns the oil pressure pump for the four-wheel drive, although it is titled pump motor. The control module (DEM) measures the current through the pump and compares it with limits that depend on the oil temperature. The code is stored when the current is too high for a longer period, which in practice means the pump itself is damaged. The fault is normally not noticed by the driver.
Possible causes
- Damaged oil pressure pump
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2With the ignition on, listen whether the pump starts and runs normally; it should hum and vibrate slightly
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and replace the oil pressure pump
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
