DEM-P060254 - Powertrain Control Module Programming Error. System Programming Failures. Missing calibration
System
Differential Electronic Module (DEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
8 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is titled powertrain control module programming error, it concerns the calibration of the four-wheel drive control module (DEM). The module has calibratable values that must be stored, and if they are missing or wrong the code is set. After a control module is replaced it must be calibrated, which is a task for a workshop.
Possible causes
- Calibration not carried out
- Calibration fault
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
- The control module has not been calibrated after replacement
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2If the four-wheel drive control module has been replaced recently, tell the workshop, since it needs calibrating
- 3If the fault was temporary and does not return, it was probably a disturbance when the module started
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment calibrate or replace the four-wheel drive control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The four-wheel drive does not work
- Warning symbol and message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
