What does this fault code mean?
The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) checks its internal components, including whether the converter for analogue signals works. The code is stored when the signal from the converter stays outside the permitted limits for a longer period. The fault lies in the module, so if it returns the module must be replaced, and the four-wheel drive is disengaged in the meantime.
Possible causes
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery is well charged
- 3If the fault was temporary and does not return, it was probably a disturbance when the module started
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and replace the four-wheel drive control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The four-wheel drive does not work
- Warning symbol and message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
