DEM-P07481D - Pressure Control Solenoid A Electrical. General Electrical Failures. Circuit current out of range
System
Differential Electronic Module (DEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) controls the control valve, the axial solenoid, and checks the current to it against permitted values. The code is stored when the current falls outside them, which can be caused by poor contact in the connectors, a damaged oil pressure or oil temperature sensor, or a damaged valve or control module. The four-wheel drive is disengaged.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged oil pressure and oil temperature sensor
- Damaged control valve or axial solenoid
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test under normal driving to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery is well charged
- 3Check the connectors at the control module, the sensors and the control valve for oxidation and loose contacts
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensors, the control valve and the control module, and replace whatever is damaged
Symptoms you may notice2
- The four-wheel drive does not work
- Warning symbol and message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
