DEM-P093211
VOLVO
DEM-P093211 - Hydraulic pressure sensor circuit. General electrical fault. Short circuit to ground.
System
Differential Electronic Module (DEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
4 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–), XC70 (2008–), XC90 (2003–)
Show models by year and engine (6)
What does this fault code mean?
The module judges whether the oil pressure sensor reading is believable. The code is stored when the signal falls below the lowest permitted value, and this is treated as a fault in the sensor circuit. The cause may be a short to ground, poor contact or a damaged sensor. The four-wheel drive works less well and is disengaged.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged oil pressure sensor
- Damaged oil pressure and oil temperature sensor
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connector between the control module and the oil pressure sensor for oxidation, loose contacts and contact resistance
- 3Check that the wire to the oil pressure sensor is not chafed or pinched and does not touch the body
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and replace the oil pressure sensor or the control module if needed
Symptoms you may notice1
- The four-wheel drive works worse than normal
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
