DEM-P093215
VOLVO
DEM-P093215 - Hydraulic pressure sensor circuit. General electrical fault. Short circuit to a voltage source or open circuit.
System
Differential Electronic Module (DEM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
4 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–), XC70 (2008–), XC90 (2003–)
Show models by year and engine (6)
What does this fault code mean?
The module judges whether the oil pressure sensor reading is believable. The code is stored when the signal rises above the highest permitted value, which can be caused by a short to voltage or a break in the sensor circuit. Poor contact or a damaged sensor may also be behind it. The four-wheel drive works less well and is disengaged.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged oil pressure sensor
- Damaged oil pressure and oil temperature sensor
- Damaged control module
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the connector to the oil pressure sensor is secure and free from oxidation
- 3Check the wire to the sensor for damage, such as chafing or pinching
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor and the control module, and replace whatever is damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- The four-wheel drive works worse than normal
What the fault can affect1
- The four-wheel drive is disengaged
