What does this fault code mean?
The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) checks its calibration software, and the code is stored when it finds a fault in the calibration. This means that the base values that should be stored are missing or wrong. The module cannot be calibrated in the aftermarket, so the fault is remedied by replacing the module. The four-wheel drive is disengaged in the meantime.
Possible causes
- The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) is not calibrated
- Damaged four-wheel drive control module (DEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and erase the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2If the fault is intermittent and does not come back, it was probably a disturbance when the module started
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and replace the four-wheel drive control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The four-wheel drive does not work
- Warning symbol and message in the display
