What does this fault code mean?
The oil pressure pump keeps running well beyond the expected time when the accumulator is being topped up. This suggests that pressure is escaping somewhere in the system. The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) checks this with the engine running, and the code is set when the pump runs for too long. The fault can sit in the check valve of the oil filter or in a clogged oil filter.
Possible causes
- The non-return valve in the oil filter is stuck open
- The oil filter is clogged
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, note it and clear it. Test drive the vehicle to see if the fault returns
- 2If the oil filter or the oil in the coupling has recently been changed, tell the workshop
- 3Look for oil leaks at the coupling and underneath the vehicle
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop change the oil filter and the oil in the coupling (AOC)
Symptoms you may notice1
- Four-wheel drive does not work
