What does this fault code mean?
The four-wheel drive control module (DEM) checks the values in its parameter memory, which hold the basic values for how it should work. If the values do not match the software, the code is set. The fault can occur if the DEM or the central electronic module was not built for this vehicle, such as a used module with other software.
Possible causes
- A used four-wheel drive control module (DEM) with software or hardware that does not suit this vehicle
- A used central electronic module (CEM) with software or hardware that does not suit this vehicle
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, note it and clear it. Switch the ignition on and see if the fault returns
- 2If the control module or the central electronic module has recently been replaced, tell the workshop, since it needs the right software for the vehicle
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, check that the central electronic module sends the vehicle model on the CAN network and that the control module responds
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop load the newest software into the control module and calibrate it, or replace the control module if it is not intended for the vehicle
