What does this fault code mean?
The instrument panel control module has at some point registered a fault in its own memory, and the code is therefore set. The fault is intermittent, meaning it has occurred before but does not always show. It may cause some functions to work incorrectly or not at all, but it does not have to.
Possible causes
- Fault in the control module memory
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, note it and clear it. Switch the ignition off and on to see if the fault returns
- 2Note which functions are not working correctly and tell the workshop
- 3Check that the battery is in good condition and that the fuses are intact, since voltage irregularities can cause memory faults in control modules
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, check that the control module responds to diagnostic commands
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the control module and replace it if needed
Symptoms you may notice1
