What does this fault code mean?
The background lighting in the driver information module (DIM) is not working, so the code is set. The instrument lighting or the dimmer then has no effect. The background lighting itself may be broken, but a fault in the instrument's temperature sensor can also cause it.
Possible causes
- Background lighting in the instrument panel is broken
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition on and check whether the instrument shows any picture
- 2Turn the dimmer and check whether the instrument lighting changes
- 3Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 4Clear the fault code and test drive the vehicle. If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the instrument panel
