What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named for a transfer fuel pump, it concerns the fuel level sensor in the tank. The instrument has noticed that the fuel gauge level does not change during a longer drive, and the code is then set. The cause is that the sensor has jammed, and the gauge may then show a value that is too high or too low.
Possible causes
- Fuel level sensor has jammed
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, note it and clear it. Test drive the vehicle to see if the fault returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fuel level in live data and check whether the value changes when you refuel
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel level sensor in the tank
Symptoms you may notice2
- Fuel gauge shows a value that is too high
- Fuel gauge shows a value that is too low
