DIM-C200262 - Odometer tampered. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
Driver Information Module (DIM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The instrument panel module (DIM) works out the total distance from signals sent by several other modules in the vehicle. If one of the signals is marked as invalid, the code is set. The odometer reading may then be incorrect, and the cause should be investigated before anything is changed.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in another control module on the same part of the CAN network
- No CAN communication
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off and on, then read the fault code again so that a new test runs
- 2Read off the fault codes in the other control modules. If there are internal memory faults there, remedy them first and follow those fault-finding steps
- 3Check the connectors to the central electronic module and the door modules for oxidation and loose fit
- 4Clear the fault code and try reading it again, to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop establish the cause, as this may require replacing the instrument panel
Symptoms you may notice1
- Gauges and trip odometer show faults or do not work
