Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named fuel level sensor A circuit, it concerns sensor A having jammed. The instrument notices that the fuel gauge level does not change during a longer drive, and then sets the code. The fuel level is then shown incorrectly, and the trip computer values for distance to empty and fuel consumption may also be wrong.
Possible causes
- The fuel level sensor has jammed
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, note it and clear it. Test drive the vehicle to see if the fault returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fuel level in live data while driving and check whether it changes
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check sensor A in the tank and replace it if needed
Symptoms you may notice4
- The fuel level is shown incorrectly
- The trip computer distance to empty is shown incorrectly
- The trip computer consumption values are shown incorrectly
- The fuel gauge shows a value that is too high or too low
