- The communication wire is shorted to earth
- The communication wire is shorted to supply voltage
- Poor contact, oxidation or breaks in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault codes, clear them and road test the car to see whether the fault returns
- 2Check the fuses in the fuse box. Their location is in the owner's manual or the fuse list
- 3The driver door module often controls the window regulator and the door lock. Check whether they work, as this helps show where the fault is
- 4Check that the wiring harness to the driver door is not chafed or pinched, especially where it enters the door
- 5If the driver door has recently been worked on, check that all connectors are properly reconnected
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the module and the CAN network
