What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module receives no signal from the clutch pedal sensor, and the fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. Because the module gets no information about the clutch pedal position, the cruise control does not work as it should.
Possible causes
- The signal wire is shorted to earth
- Break in the signal wire
- The clutch pedal sensor is fitted incorrectly
- Faulty clutch pedal sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the clutch pedal sensor is correctly fitted and look for visible damage
- 2Check the wires and connectors for play and chafing
- 3Note whether the fault only appears after the clutch pedal has been moved, and when this happens
- 4Clear the fault code and road test the car. If it returns, have a workshop investigate the clutch pedal sensor
- 5The cruise control cannot be used until the fault is gone, so plan your journeys accordingly
