What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered a fault in the signal circuit to the turbocharger control valve, such as a short to ground or an open circuit. The code can also be set when the measured intake air quantity is unreasonably high. The fault affects boost pressure, and engine output may be limited.
Possible causes
- Leaks at the intake manifold, in the hoses or at their connections
- Damaged turbocharger control valve
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, look for air leaks in the intake between the turbo and the intake manifold
- 2Check that the hoses and connections on the intake are secure and have no cracks
- 3Check the connector to the turbo control valve for looseness and oxidation
- 4If the fault returns although the hoses and connectors are sound, have a workshop check the turbo control valve
Symptoms you may notice2
- Car feels weak or performs poorly
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Engine output is reduced
