What does this fault code mean?

The engine control module has received an incorrect outside temperature value over the CAN bus. The fault is logged first in the central electronic module (CEM) and afterwards in the engine control module, so the CEM codes must be dealt with first. A damaged outside temperature sensor can also cause it.

What you can do

1Have a workshop read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM), since this code cannot be erased until those are fixed
2If you have a diagnostic tool, compare the outside temperature in live data with the actual outdoor temperature and check whether they roughly agree
3Check that the connector to the outside temperature sensor is secure and not corroded
4Have a workshop replace the outside temperature sensor if the fault remains after the CEM fault has been fixed
