What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named no signal, it concerns the fuel pressure from the control valve not matching the pressure the engine control module has requested. The usual causes are breaks in the wiring or poor contact, but blocked fuel lines and a damaged valve can also cause it.
Possible causes
- Loose connections, contact resistance or oxidation at the terminals
- Break in the power supply
- Break in the signal wire
- Signal wire shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Blocked fuel lines
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connector to the fuel pressure control valve for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the valve does not break when you move the harness
- 3The fuel system operates at very high pressure and can cause injury, so have a workshop check the fuel route from the tank, including the filter and pump
- 4If the fault returns after erasing codes and a test drive, have a workshop replace the fuel pressure control valve
Symptoms you may notice3
- Car feels weak or performs poorly, especially at take-off
- Engine hesitates, surges or runs unevenly
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Engine speed (RPM) may be limited
