What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named signal missing, it concerns a signal from the intake air temperature sensor that is erratic or unreasonable. The cause is most often poor contact, but the sensor may also be damaged.
Possible causes
- Looseness, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Damaged intake air temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connector to the intake air temperature sensor for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2If the fault returns after erasing codes and a test drive although the connector is sound, have a workshop replace the intake air temperature sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
