What does this fault code mean?
The atmospheric pressure sensor, which is built into the engine control module, has produced a signal that is too high when the ignition is switched on. The cause is most often a damaged sensor, but an internal fault in the engine control module can also cause it.
Possible causes
- Damaged atmospheric pressure sensor
- A fault inside the ECM itself
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the engine management are intact
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the air pressure in live data with the ignition on and check whether the value seems reasonable
- 3Erase the fault code, switch the ignition off and on, and see whether the fault returns
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the engine control module and the atmospheric pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a calculated value instead of the measured one
