What does this fault code mean?
The atmospheric pressure sensor, which is built into the engine control module, has at times given no reading or an incorrect one. The fault is intermittent, so it may have occurred without being present now. The usual cause is a loose connection or a momentary break in the signal wire, but the sensor may also be damaged.
Possible causes
- Loose connections in the wiring
- Intermittent break in the signal wire
- Damaged atmospheric pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the engine management are intact
- 2With the ignition off, check the connectors to the engine control module for play, and move the wiring gently while you check
- 3Erase the fault code and test drive the car; if it returns, have a workshop check the engine control module and the atmospheric pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a calculated value instead of the measured one
