What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered that the voltage from potentiometer 1 in the throttle unit lies outside the expected range. The cause is most often a damaged potentiometer in the throttle unit, but a fault in the engine control module can also cause it.
Possible causes
- Damaged potentiometer 1 in the throttle unit
- Damaged engine control module
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the throttle position in live data and check that the value changes smoothly as the throttle is pressed and released
- 2Erase the fault code and test drive the car; if it returns, have a workshop check the throttle unit and the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
