Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
3 modelsC30 (2007–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has detected a fault in the adaptive fuel-air mixture control (lambda trim) on bank 1, but cannot tell exactly what kind of fault it is. This general code is therefore stored instead of a more specific one. The code has no fault-tracing of its own and is remedied through the other fault codes in the control module.
Possible causes
- A fault in the fuel or air system that the control module cannot link to a single fault code
What you can do
- 1Read all fault codes stored in the engine control module and note which others are present alongside this one
- 2Fix the more specific code first, since it describes what is actually wrong
- 3Clear the codes once the repair is done and road test to see which ones return
- 4If only this code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment work out which underlying code applies
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
