Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
3 modelsC30 (2007–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the A/C pressure sensor and sets the fault when it registers a fault in the control of the sensor. The cause is a signal wire shorted to ground. The driver is not normally aware of the fault.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault code, erase it and road-test to see whether it returns
- 2Switch off the ignition and unplug the A/C pressure sensor connector. Check it for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the sensor is not shorted to ground
- 4Look for chafed wires near the sensor, especially where they may have touched metal
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and, if needed, replace the A/C pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
