What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the pressure in the brake servo. The fault is set when the pressure falls outside its limit value while the engine runs. The causes may be a damaged vacuum system between the non-return valve and the brake servo, or a damaged engine control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged vacuum system between the non-return valve and the brake servo
- Damaged engine control module
What you can do
- 1Save the fault codes and their values before erasing anything, since erasing removes all fault codes in the engine control module
- 2Start the engine, let it idle for a while, then switch it off and switch the ignition on again
- 3Check the hoses and connections to the brake servo for cracks and leaks
- 4Check the vacuum sensor connector for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 5Because the brake servo is part of the brake system, have a workshop check the vacuum system if a leak is found or the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
