What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the battery voltage and has recorded that it was too high. The code may be left over from an earlier occasion when the voltage was too high, since the fault is no longer active when the check is made. The cause is a charging system that is not working as it should.
Possible causes
- Charging system not working as it should
What you can do
- 1Erase the fault code, start the engine and let it idle. Then check whether the code comes back
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the system voltage in live data at idle and see whether it is normal
- 3If the voltage is too high, have a workshop check the charging system
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
