What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel unit (SWM) passes cruise control button presses over CAN to the engine module. If the signal is faulty, or there is a fault in CAN communication, the code is set.
Possible causes
- Fault in the steering wheel module (SWM)
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in the steering wheel module (SWM) first and deal with them, as this code cannot be erased until they are fixed
- 2Erase the engine module code only after the fault in the steering wheel module has been fixed
- 3Check that the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel work and return normally
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the steering wheel module and the CAN communication
Symptoms you may notice1
- Cruise control does not engage
