What does this fault code mean?
The supply voltage to a sensor is too low, and the ECM sets the code. The cause may be poor connections, or a supply wire shorted to earth. The fault shows as a warning symbol and text message in the display.
Possible causes
- Poor connections, or oxidation in the connections
- Supply wire to the sensor in contact with earth
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors at the engine control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Inspect the wiring to the sensor for chafing, since chafed wire can touch earth
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check the sensor's supply wire for contact with the body
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop read the sensor with diagnostic equipment and remedy what is found
Symptoms you may notice1
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
