What does this fault code mean?

A sensor receives too high a supply voltage because its supply wire is shorted to battery voltage. The ECM registers this and sets the code. The fault shows as a warning symbol and text message in the display.

    Possible causes

    • Supply wire to the sensor short-circuited to battery voltage

    What you can do

    1. 1Inspect the wiring from the control module to the sensor for chafing, especially where it may touch a live wire
    2. 2Check that the connectors at the sensor and the control module are tight and clean
    3. 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check whether the supply wire has contact with battery voltage
    4. 4If no short remains but the fault persists, a workshop should decide whether the sensor or the control module is damaged

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • Yellow warning symbol with text message in the display

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
