What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has logged an internal fault. This code is set because of another fault in the control module, so that fault should be fixed first. The code can be cleared once the other fault is remedied.
Possible causes
- A separate fault elsewhere in the module, to be traced first
What you can do
- 1Read out the other fault codes in the control module and trace them first
- 2Clear this code only after the other faults are remedied, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3If it returns, the control module is probably the cause; a workshop should decide whether it needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
