Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered that the speed from the needle lift sensor has been too high, or that the needle lift sensor reading disagrees with the speed from the impulse sensor. The fault concerns an abnormal signal, so the engine may have been running at a speed the sensor should not report. The code is set when the deviation occurs.
Possible causes
- Needle lift sensor signal too high, showing an engine speed the engine should not have
- Defective needle lift sensor
- Fault in the fuel supply
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuel is clean and that the fuel supply has no leaks or air in the system
- 3Inspect the needle lift sensor connector and cable for damage and oxidation
- 4If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment examine the needle lift sensor and the fuel supply
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp comes on
