Applies to the following models:
4 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has a function that protects the fuel system from air, and it shuts the engine off if the fuel level in the tank becomes too low. The code is set when the module detects a level that is too low, and it is tested when the ignition is switched on.
Possible causes
- Low fuel level in the tank
What you can do
- 1Refuel so that the tank is not close to empty
- 2Do not drive on a nearly empty tank, since the engine can stall in traffic
- 3Clear the code once the tank has been filled and check that it does not return
- 4If the fuel gauge shows enough fuel but the code remains, have a workshop check the fuel level measurement
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine can stall while driving
