What does this fault code mean?
When the engine starts, the engine control module checks the piezo-electric injector valves. The valves are supplied through a high-output driver at a voltage well above the car's battery voltage. If the module finds a fault, the code is stored and a message with a warning symbol appears in the display.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections to the injector valves
- Open circuit in the wiring to the injector valves
- Short circuit in the wiring to the injector valves
- Damaged injector valve
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connectors to all injector valves for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the injector valves are not broken and have no short to ground or supply voltage
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the injector valves and their wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- A message and a warning symbol appear in the display
