What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has found that the signal from the boost pressure sensor has been too high for a certain time. Boost pressure is then limited, and the car may feel weaker.
Possible causes
- Play, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire or the ground wire
- Damaged boost pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the boost pressure sensor connector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with supply voltage and that the ground wire is not broken
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- The malfunction indicator lamp comes on
- The car performs worse
What the fault can affect1
- Boost pressure is limited
