What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has found that the boost pressure sensor signal has been too low for a certain time. Boost pressure is then limited, and this is felt as a lack of power.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Damaged boost pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the boost pressure sensor is firmly fitted and has not come loose
- 2Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to ground
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- The malfunction indicator lamp comes on
- The car performs worse
What the fault can affect1
- Boost pressure is limited
