What does this fault code mean?

The boost pressure sensor reading is normal but sits above the value given by the built-in atmospheric pressure sensor. Engine management compares the two, and when the difference becomes too large the code is set. Boost may then be limited.

    Possible causes

    • Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
    • Damaged boost pressure sensor

    What you can do

    1. 1Check the boost pressure sensor connector and terminals for contact resistance and oxidation
    2. 2Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
    3. 3If the fault remains, have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor, as it may be damaged

    Symptoms you may notice2

    • The malfunction indicator lamp comes on
    • The car performs worse

    What the fault can affect1

    • Boost pressure is limited

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
