What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has registered that the internal communication inside the control module is not working. The fault therefore lies in the engine control module itself, not in the wiring to it.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the engine control module
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, then on again, and clear the fault code. If it returns, the fault is still present
- 2Have a workshop check that the engine control module has the latest software, since an update can clear the fault
- 3If the fault remains after the update, have a workshop replace the engine control module, as it has an internal fault
