What does this fault code mean?
The ECM supplies the injectors through its integrated high output driver. If the signal from that driver is faulty, fault code ECM-1667 is set. The fault may lie in the connectors, the wiring, the injectors or the fuel return line.
Possible causes
- Loose connections, contact resistance or oxidation at the injector terminals
- Short circuit in the wiring to the injectors
- A clogged fuel return hose at the injectors
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition and check all injector connectors for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a multimeter, check all the injector wiring for breaks and for short circuits to ground or voltage
- 3If nothing else is found, the fuel return line to the injectors may be blocked. Have a workshop check it
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the injectors
Symptoms you may notice1
- Warning symbol and a text message in the display
