Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
3 modelsC30 (2007–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The ECM watches the cruise control function and sets the fault code if it registers a fault in it. The cause may lie in another control module that sends the cruise control signal, in this case the steering wheel module.
Possible causes
- No cruise control input arriving from the steering wheel module (SWM)
What you can do
- 1Test the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel and see whether cruise control can be engaged
- 2Check that the connectors to the steering wheel module are firmly seated and not oxidised
- 3Because the code points to a fault in another module, have a workshop trace the fault from the steering wheel module
- 4Clear the fault code only once the fault in the steering wheel module has been corrected
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
