Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS40 (1996–2004), V40 (1996–2004)

What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has registered a fault in its built-in atmospheric pressure sensor. Because the sensor sits inside the module, the fault lies in the module itself.
Possible causes
- Defective engine control module
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, then on again, and clear the fault code. If it returns, the fault is still present
- 2The atmospheric pressure sensor cannot be replaced on its own, so the control module itself has to be replaced. Have a workshop confirm the fault first
- 3Replacing the control module is a workshop job, and the new module must be matched to the car
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a fixed value for the atmospheric pressure
