What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the signal wire from the fuel temperature sensor. If the signal is too low, because of a fault in the wire or in the sensor, fault code ECM-1805 is set.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Defective fuel temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition and check the fuel temperature sensor connector for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a multimeter, check that the sensor's signal wire is not shorted to ground
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel temperature in live data and check whether the value looks reasonable
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the wiring or replace the fuel temperature sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a fixed value for fuel temperature
